Marina del Rey Anglers

A group of kids on a boat with fishing gear

Above, the sport boat, the Betty-O, is loaded with fishermen from Marina Del Rey Anglers and DRYC who act as mentors to teach the kids how to fish and a little about the bay and the environment.  The back of the boat is loaded with kids about to start a fun fishing adventure!

MDRA takes over 500+ kids fishing every summer break. The children come from youth groups all around the Los Angeles region. Many are catching their first fish ever. All of them are building key memories that will last a lifetime. Seeing the ocean from beyond the beach is very different from the average. Experiencing the wilderness that is just under the waves opens up new possibilities and thoughts about the natural environment. Thank you for the financial support. We will apply the $1,500 support donation to our Youth Fishing program.

Happy youth holds up the fish he caught

Making fun experiences. This is a Sculpin and this young man will recall the cheers for such a fine catch for a long time.

Everyone is all smiles as a boy shows off the fish he caught

The MDRA club sends Mentors out to help teach the kids about being a sportsman and care for the environment. This youth is landing a Sand Bass. And his pride is obvious for the good catch. Captain of the boat, Michael Reinch looks on approvingly from over their shoulders. Fish was released unharmed to be caught another day. Teaching conservation and good sportsmanship lessons to the new fishermen.
