Del Rey YC Racing Team goes to SailGP Long Beach 2025

Thrilled by the speed, united by the experience — a day at SailGP that brought Del Rey Yacht Club’s Racing Team closer.

Dear Santa Monica Sailing Foundation,

On behalf of the Del Rey Yacht Club sailing team, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for securing such fantastic seats for us at the SailGP competition in Long Beach on March 2025. Your generosity gave our team the opportunity to witness world-class sailing up close—and what an exhilarating experience it was!

The speed and precision of the boats left our teammates absolutely awestruck. It was not only a thrilling spectacle but also a memorable team-building event that brought us closer together, both on and off the water.

While we were all rooting for the U.S. team to take the win, the day was a resounding success in every other way. Thank you again for your continued support of youth sailing and for helping to inspire the next generation of sailors.

It’s hard to pinpoint a single favorite moment—every part of the day was special. Being off the water and spending time with teammates while watching the boats tear across the course at breathtaking speed was both thrilling and inspiring. The velocity and precision of the racing left a lasting impression, and I wouldn’t be surprised if a few of my teammates are now dreaming of becoming SailGP engineers themselves!
