Hello from the Keeves family,
Thank you so much to the Santa Monica Sailing Foundation for the financial help for Cooper to attend the 2024 Club 420 Midwinter Championship for the John V. Hanson Trophy in Jenson Beach, Florida on Feb 17-19th.
Cooper had an amazing experience and learned so much.
There were some tough competitors at the race from all over the country and the conditions were quite variable. Below is a pic one of the parents sent me of Cooper and Matthew rounding the leeward mark 1st ahead of the fleet in their last race of the event. They went on to score a bullet in that race and finished off the event taking 2nd place overall, out of the 148 boats competing.
Again, many thanks for the financial help. With two boys sailing events all over the country and more college expense looming, we are very grateful for any financial help like this that can contribute to Cooper being able to attend as many of these big events as possible. He loves sailing and his goal is to be the best sailor possible and hopefully get recruited to a top college with a varsity sailing program. This was his second major C420 event and he is proud of his result. With each experience he grows leaps and bounds as a sailor and learns a ton. Thank you very much for your support.
